The Greeneville Fire Department douses fire at former
Bernards Warehouse No. 2 at the corner of South Main and Cutler Streets on Monday, Aug. 18, at
approximately 8 p.m. A spokesman for the GFD said the demolition contracting company hired by property
owner Bewley Properties had been issued a burning permit to assist in removing debris from the site.
The department spokesman said the permit only allowed daytime burning, so the fire department put
out the fire before dark. No incidents were reported.
