Songs from the battlefield and songs demanding peace both were
featured Tuesday night in the annual spring concert of the Greene County School
System.
Approximately 240 students from every county elementary school
drew a capacity crowd to the Niswonger Performing Arts Center for "This is America: A History of
America Through Song."
Rainy weather
did not stop an estimated 1,000 people from enjoying the food and festivities at the June Dairy Days
Celebration held on Friday evening at the Lowe's parking lot.
Between 150
and 200 enthusiastic people -- many carrying signs -- attended a "Tea Party" rally at noon Thursday
in front of the Greene County Courthouse.
