The annexation of approximately 99 acres on Whirlwind Road
was approved on first reading Tuesday afternoon by the Greeneville
Board of Mayor and Aldermen, despite opposition from a large group of
property-owners.
The public was invited to attend an open house on Monday,

by the Greeneville Board of Mayor and Aldermen in a sometimes-stormy meeting Tuesday
afternoon.
Yhona Jones, principal of Mosheim Elementary and Middle
School, on Tuesday received the Greene County Partnership's
"Outstanding Service to Students" award.
