President Andrew Johnson's 200th birthday anniversary was capped off Dec. 29, 2008, with a birthday party at Towne Square Center; presidential wreath-laying ceremony, luminaries andfireworks at the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery; and a reception honoring groups and individuals who played roles in the year-long bicentennial celebration. Events were hosted by the Andrew Johnson Bicentennial Steering Committee, co-chaired by Jim Small and Carlos Whaley.
