Circulation Manager Dale Long and Online Manager Brian Cutshall have both been key members of the USS Greeneville committee who helped get the ship named for Greeneville since the inception of the project.

The USS Greeneville, the fast-attack nuclear submarine named for this community, achieved a significant milestone on Feb. 21 by completing its 500th dive.

"The USS Greeneville Rising," a new documentary on the USS Greeneville, was broadcast for the first time Thursday night by 11 Connects WJHL-TV, and won rave reviews from a number of local citizens very familiar with the 21-year history of the fast-attack nuclear submarine named for this community.

In a scheduled change-of-command ceremony at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, earlier this month, Cmdr. Anthony Carullo relieved Cmdr. Alan Dorrbecker as commanding officer of the USS Greeneville, the fast-attack nuclear submarine named for this community.

State Rep. Eddie Yokley, D-11th, of Greene County, his wife Carolyn, and their son, Army Capt. Jordan Yokley, M.D., toured the USS Greeneville nuclear submarine earlier this month at its berth in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
