The USS Greeneville (SSN-772) is a Los Angeles-class submarine of the United States Navy named for Greeneville, Tennessee. She was commissioned in Newport News, Virginia in 1988 and was launched in 1994.

The town of Greeneville, home of 17th U.S. President Andrew Johnson, maintains close ties with the USS Greeneville and her crew. The honor of having a 6,000 ton nuclear-powered submarine is typically reserved for large cities such as Los Angeles, Salt Lake City and Boston; together the citizens, businesses and representatives of Greeneville successfully launched a campaign to get a small town's name on the hull of a sub.
