Antique Appraisal Fair On Saturday; Dozens Of Dealers

The fifth annual Antique Appraisal Fair and Show
this Saturday at Greeneville High School will offer experienced appraisers, 30 antique dealers
selling their wares and museum displays.
Admission is free but a $5
fee will be charged per item to be appraised.
This year's event,
organized by the Greene County Partnership's tourism department, will again feature qualified
appraisers from across the Southeast.
APPRAISERS
The appraisers will include:
* Jeff
Cupp, an appraiser from Knoxville who is a 1981 graduate of West Greene High School, who graduated
from Walters State Community College with a degree in business and from the University of Tennessee
Knoxville with a degree in advertising and marketing.
* Jeff and Joe
Hodges, who specialize in Americana, East Tennessee furniture, pottery and folk art, Rose Medallion,
Canton and Chinese export, silver; American, English and Continental, Art; oils, pastels and
graphics, Staffordshire; historical and figural, Oriental rugs/carpets and antique clocks.
* John D. Case, the owner of "Case Antiques," along with Harold
Smiddy, with over 15 years of experience researching and evaluating American antiques and art and
with a specialization in Southern decorative arts.
* Kenneth Depew,
who specializes in toys, advertising and sports memorabilia and has a basic, general knowledge of
most antiques.
* Carol L. Wamble, from Hermitage, Tenn., who is a
fully accredited professional appraiser and the owner of Wamble Appraising.
* Deborah Webb, a member of the International Society of Appraisers and a qualified
appraiser of antiques and residential contents. She owns Deborah Webb Estate Moving Sales &
Appraisals business in Franklin, Tenn.

The Appraisal Fair will also
feature historical attractions: Carlos Whaley and The East Tennessee Civil War Campaigns group,
dressed in Civil War uniforms, as well as Lynn Bowerman and the 1860's Citizen Society of East
Tennessee.
In addition, The Greeneville Astros and the Baseball
Museum will be represented.
For each item a visitor has
appraised, their name will be entered into a drawing to win a Sanyo 32-inch LCD HDTV, compliments of
the Walmart Distribution Center.
FRIDAY NIGHT SEMINAR
New to this year's event will be a free seminar on Friday night,
Feb. 19, in the gymnasium of Greeneville High School led by Carol Wamble, ISA CAPP from Hermitage,
Tenn.
The seminar will focus on "When Do You Need A Real Appraisal:
Or Do You Just Need an Evaluation, "Appraising Your Own Antiques," "Market Trend" and "What's Hot
and What's Not" with a question and answer time to follow.
Those who
attend the seminar will be entered to win a $50 gift card from Walmart.
