All-American point guard Jasmine Gunn poured in a game-high 24 points and recorded a double-double with a season-high 11 assists to lead the Tusculum College women's basketball team to its fifth straight victory in South Atlantic Conference play with a 80-56 win over Catawba on Saturday.
With the win, Tusculum (14-7, 7-4 SAC) records it seventh straight victory over Catawba (13-8, 6-4 SAC).
Gunn knocked down 10-of-16 attempts from the floor and dished out a game-high 11 assists to notch her third double-double of the season. Freshman Kendal Baxter knocked down 5-of-10 attempts from beyond the arc to join Gunn in double figures with 15 points. Catherine Hintz also scored 12 points and hauled down a game-high 11 rebounds to notch her fifth double-double of the season.
Dana Hicks turned in a double-double for the Catawba Indians, pacing Catawba with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Tusculum launched a 14-4 run late in the first half, closing out the period on a buzzer-beating jumper by Kat Spears to take a 41-23 lead into the intermission.
The Pioneers return to the court on Wednesday when they host Wingate University in SAC play. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Pioneer Arena.
