A fire of
undetermined origin destroyed a double-wide mobile home at 90 Tilson Lane in Baileyton on Thursday
afternoon, but no injuries were reported.
Michele DeLotto, a spokesman
for the Baileyton-based United Volunteer Fire Department, said volunteer firefighters were
dispatched by Greene County 911 to the blaze at 4:59 p.m.
"It was fully
engulfed (in flames) on the arrival of the first firefighters," DeLotto
said.
She said the double-wide mobile home was owned by Ed Sensabaugh and
was rented by Joe and Tracy Jones.
"It was a total loss," DeLotto said of
the structure.
DeLotto reported that 10 firefighters and five fire trucks
responded to the burning mobile home, which was located off Baileyton's Main Street just south of
the bridge over Interstate 81.
Firefighters remained on the scene until
about 8:15 p.m. Thursday, she said.
Also responding to the fire were
units of the Greene County-Greeneville Emergency Medical Services, the Greene County Sheriff's
Department, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Greeneville Light & Power System and a disaster
services unit from the Greene County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
