A new Dairy Queen drive-in restaurant has opened at 3630 E. Andrew Johnson Hwy., across U.S. 11E from Walmart.
The new Dairy Queen is owned by LSR Foods, the company of Mark and Beth Douthat.
It owns two other Dairy Queens; one next to Interstate 81's Exit 23, and one in Dobson, N.C.
The new Dairy Queen has seating indoors for 48 diners as well as an outdoor patio with tables for use in good weather.
It is open seven days a week, from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The new Dairy Queen's general manager is Sandra Kesterson.
The restaurant has 55 employees, most of them working part-time.
The building was designed by Dave Wright, a Greeneville architect, and was built by Idell Construction Co., also of Greeneville.
