An Asheville, N.C., woman told Greeneville police that her purse had been stolen by a man who pushed her to the ground outside a business at 835 East Andrew Johnson Highway about 9:55 p.m. on Saturday.
The victim told Greeneville Police Officer Eddie Key the suspect, whom she believed to be in his early 20s, had asked her if she had a set of jumper cables before pushing her to the ground and fleeing with her purse.
The purse contained $120 cash and two credit cards and the suspect fled the scene in a blue sports car.
The victim had attempted to follow the suspect in her car, but lost sight of the fleeing vehicle, according to the report.
