MANAGING EDITOR

Greene County Partnership President Randy Harrell said Friday there has been increased interest in recent weeks among manufacturers considering this county for possible plant locations.

Harrell told a regular meeting of the GCP board of directors that earlier this week he met with representatives of two such businesses, and that a third manufacturer was visiting here on Friday.

The GCP's president noted that such prospects are, of course, considering other locations also.

But he added, "At least they are looking," which wasn't the case here earlier this year.

SIX BOARD NOMINEES

The Partnership's board on Friday also nominated six persons to serve three-year terms on the board.

Four are current board members. They are Brian Click, Lisa Crum, Bob Leonard and Chuck Whitfield.

Two nominees would be new to the board. They are Daniel Hawk and David Rivers.

TREASURER'S REPORT

Brian Click, the GCP's secretary-treasurer, reported that the Partnership's income for this year has been about $65,743 less than the income for last year, but that the GCP's expenditures have been $40,000 less than last year's.

His financial report said that, as of the end of October, the Partnership had $630,826 in total revenues and $623,691 in total expenses for the 10-month period.

He commented that the GCP staff has "been doing a great job in a very difficult economic environment with their budgets this year."
