A Greene County man told Greeneville police on Thursday afternoon that on Wednesday night he had fought off two attackers who he believed were attempting to rob him in the parking lot of an East Andrew Johnson Highway business.
A report filed by GPD Capt. Teddy Lawing said the 19-year-old man told police he had been walking to his vehicle after getting off from work about 10 p.m. Wednesday when he was confronted in the parking lot of the Lowe's store by two young men.
The report described the two suspects as being about 17 years old. One was estimated to weigh about 160 pounds while the second suspect was described as weighing an estimated 230 pounds.
The victim, according to the report, threw an "upper-cut" punch at the smaller of the two assailants, knocking him temporarily unconscious, then placed the larger of the two suspects in a "head-lock" until he abandoned the robbery attempt.
After the smaller of the two suspects regained consciousness, the report said, both suspects entered a dark-colored automobile and fled the scene.
The report noted that the victim sustained minor injuries to his hands and arms during the incident.
Nothing was reported taken during the incident.
