H1N1 "swine"
flu vaccination clinics will begin Monday for students and staff in the Greene County school
system.
Vaccination clinics have been scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at
eight schools in northern Greene County.
According to Beth Rader, media
spokesperson for the Northeast Tennessee Regional Health Office, H1N1 flu vaccination clinics will
be scheduled at the rest of the Greene County schools "as soon as more vaccine
arrives."
The H1N1 flu vaccines are free and will be administered by
personnel from the Greene County Health Department.
Only those students
who returned to their school a consent form signed by a parent or guardian will be allowed to
receive the flu vaccine. The forms were sent home by the school system earlier this
month.
"If your child has not returned their form, they should do so by
their school's clinic date," said Suzanne Price, RN, system nurse for the Greene School
Schools.
