GHS Bowlers Get Victories

Greeneville's bowling teams traveled to Pigeon Forge to take on Region 2 opponent Seymour and both teams soared higher than the Eagles, taking wins while rolling season high series.

The Lady Devils jumped out to a 7-1 lead after the first game. Brittany Hensley (180), Summer Garber (170) and Lydia Cogburn (162) had the top scores for Greeneville.

The second game went the same as the first seeing Greeneville's lead stretch out to 14-2 while Hensley rolled a 174 followed closely by Garber with a 173. The third game saw the Lady Devils seal the 24-3 win and close out the day with a 2629 series. Garber ended the day with a 176, while Tammy Knapp had a 156 and Taylor Fox a 147.

Greeneville goes to 10-1 on the season with the victory.

Greeneville's boys got things started off great against a very tough and previously unbeaten Seymour team.

Game one saw the Devils jump out to a 6-2 lead while rolling an 1159 series. Scott Eriksen (236), Jeff Cogburn (210) and Ethan Jones (206) paced Greeneville in the first game.

The second game saw Greeneville's lead stretch to 12-4, while rolling an 1123. Justin Miller led the way with a 246, while Dylan Walsh came in with a 203 and Caleb Nunn a 184.

The third game saw the Eagles come soaring back taking seven of eight points and cutting the deficit to 13-11. James Ricker would collect the lone point for Greeneville rolling a 199. The final difference was the season high 3218 series compared to Seymour's 3036, sealing the 16-11 win.

The win runs Greeneville's record to 10-1 on the season.

Greeneville is off until Monday when the teams travel to Knoxville to take on another Region 2 opponent, Knox Catholic, at 4 p.m.
