The address to which applications for the position of Greene County Director Schools should be submitted has been changed.
The Greene County Board of Education is seeking to hire a new director of schools to replace Dr. Joe Parkins, who is retiring next June 30 when his current contract expires.
Kathy Crawford, vice chairman of the Greene County Board of Education, said on Tuesday afternoon that board will begin accepting applications for the position of director of schools at 8 a.m. Nov. 2.
Applications and other documents related to the position may be downloaded from the Greene County School System's Web site (greenek12.org), beginning Nov. 2, according to Crawford.
However, completed applications, and other documents, should be submitted to the board's consultant, Dr. Ted Beach, 1114 N. Road Street, Suite 107-Box 224, Johnson City, TN 37601.
Earlier, the board had said applications should be submitted to Dr. Beach's residence. But the board's search committee then decided that a business address should be used instead, according to Crawford.
For more information, applicants should contact Dr. Beach at (423) 282-1970 or via e-mail at ted.beach@yahoo.com.
The board approved a director-search timeline that says the board expects to announce the hiring of a new director of schools next March.
