Tusculum College quarterback Bo Cordell and placekicker Gareth Rowlands have been named the South Atlantic Conference Football Players of the Week.
Cordell was named the SAC Offensive Player of the Week for a second time this season, while Rowlands garnered Special Teams Player of the Week accolades for a second time in his career.
Cordell, a freshman from Cincinnati, Ohio (Indian Hill HS), passed for 277 yards and three touchdowns as Tusculum rallied from a 14-point deficit to post a 34-31 South Atlantic Conference win at Newberry.
He went 18-for-30, including 11-of-15 in the second half as he passed for 195 yards in the final 30 minutes. He completed scoring tosses of 32, 39 and 5 yards.
Rowlands, a junior from Wales, Great Britain (Kings Academy), was perfect on six kicks, including his game-winning 44-yard field goal in the Pioneers' 34-31 victory at Newberry.
Rowlands went 4-for-4 on extra-point attempts and 2-of-2 on field goals, covering distances of 49 and 44 yards.
Tusculum (2-6, 1-4 SAC) returns home to host Mars Hill (6-2, 4-1 SAC) Saturday at 2:30 p.m. It's Tusculum's annual homecoming game and Senior Day as 13 Pioneers will be playing in their final home contests.
