Greeneville High School's junior varsity football team captured the Blue Ridge Conference football championship with a 7-2 overall record.
Victories during the season came over Jeff County, Crockett, West Greene, Tennessee High, South Greene, Chuckey-Doak and Grainger. The only two losses were by one point in overtime to Dobyns-Bennett and by one touchdown to Science Hill.
The Greene Devils averaged 31 points per game on offense while the defense gave up an average of only 15 points per outing.
"This was the largest freshman class of football players that I've ever had with 45," Coach Bill Brimer said. "He had no real stand-outs, just a lot of good to above average football players who work hard and steadily improved through the year."
"If this class will stick together and continue to work hard, they will accomplish a lot while at GHS," Brimer added.
