Dr. Beth Morrell, an experienced and locally- well-known veterinarian, has joined Crestview Animal Hospital as an associate of Dr. Bob Thorpe, who heads the Crestview facility at 1543 Industrial Road.

Morrell is a 1990 graduate of Ohio State University's College of Veterinary Medicine.

She started practicing in Greeneville 19 years ago, went to Morristown for 1.5 years and then came back to Animals West Veterinary Hospital for 10.5 years.

For the past six years she has been doing veterinary relief work in Piney Flats, Johnson City, Kingsport, Jefferson City, Morristown and Greeneville.

Dr. Morrell said she is most interested in internal medicine and preventive health care for pets and is "excited about practicing in Greeneville again and reuniting with past patients and their furry family members."

She has been married for 22 years to John Morrell, a teacher at Greeneville High School. They have two children, Emily, 16, and Spence, 12.

Dr. Morrell is an elder at Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church, where she is involved in many activities, including teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir.

She is on duty at Crestview Animal Hospital on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The hospital's telephone number is 639-1421.
