Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park will hold its "Crockett Days" celebration on Saturday and Sunday, Aug.15 and 16.
Activities at the park near Limestone will include re-enactors in period dress demonstrating skills and crafts of the pioneers, as well as Native American peoples who lived here long before the pioneer era.
A special this year will be the highlighting of local artisan, Steve Ricker, an accomplished artist whose historic reproductions of the late 18th century have been sought by collectors around the world.
Examples of Ricker's art and historical reproductions will be on display in the Park Museum on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
Refreshments will be available.
Admission is free.
