Two local teams will play for their district softball championships tonight.
Greeneville's 13-14s defeated Jefferson City on Thursday, and the local 15-16s won over Smoky Mountain to advance to the title games.
The 13-14s won in a rout, blasting Jefferson City 24-1. Ashlyn Taylor got the pitching win.
Savannah Ayers hit a homer for Greeneville. Brooke Williams had a double and a triple. Macy Haire and Alisha Morrow both tripled. Tera Cutshaw and Kristin Harman each hit a double.
Greeneville takes on Morristown tonight at 6 p.m. at the New Field.
The 15-16s won an 8-7 thriller over Smoky Mountain led by two doubles from Christy Massey and a double from Baylee Foulk. Katie O'Neil got the pitching win for Greeneville.
Greeneville takes on Smoky Mountain again tonight for the championship at 8 p.m. at the New Field.
Greeneville National is still alive in the 9-10 bracket, defeating Smoky Mountain 9-7 on Thursday. Wynter Stills got the pitching win, striking out six. Kaylee Valentine led the hitting with a double.
Morristown National defeated Jefferson City 27-4, scoring 19 runs in the first inning.
Greeneville National takes on Morristown National tonight at 6 p.m. at the Old Field.
