Fire destroyed an unoccupied house on
Tuesday night at 6205 Warrrensburg Road that was valued at $173,000, according to a Greene County
sheriff's report.
The fire was reported at 10:10 p.m. It apparently
started at a rear corner of a recently remodeled but unoccupied house that was being offered for
sale.
Capt. Phil Inscore, of the Orebank Volunteer Fire Department, said
the house was "fully involved" in flames when firefighters arrived.
About
15 firefighters from Orebank were assisted by units from the Midway and Caney Branch
VFDs.
Inscore said personnel with the Emergency Medical Service,
GL&PS and American Red Cross also responded. Firefighters were at the scene until about 3 a.m.,
he said.
The owner was listed as Angela Carpenter, of White Pine. The
structure was considered a total loss.
