Many Offices Closed Friday For Holiday

Many local offices will be closed this Friday and Saturday in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

The Town of Greeneville Public Works Department will observe Independence Day on Friday, July 3. Garbage normally collected on Friday will be collected Monday along with the regular Monday routes.

The Greeneville/Greene County Transfer Station and Demolition Landfill will also be closed on Friday.

Greene County convenience centers will be closed July 4.

The town halls of Greeneville, Baileyton, Mosheim, and Tusculum will be closed Friday.

The U.S. Post Office will be closed Saturday. No mail will be delivered that day.

County offices in the courthouse and annex as well as the James H. Quillen United States Courthouse will be closed on Friday.

The Tennessee Department of Human Services and the Greene County Health Department will be closed Friday.

Also closed Friday are the Social Security office, the Greeneville Water Department, Greeneville Light & Power, the Greene County Food Bank, and the Greene County Partnership.

The University of Tennessee Agricultural Extension Office and the Forestry Service will be closed Friday.

The YMCA will be open July 3 but will be closed Saturday, July 4.

The Greeneville-Greene County Library and the T. Elmer Cox Historical and Genealogical Library will be closed Friday and Saturday in observance of the holiday.

The Greeneville Sun offices will be open on Friday and the newspaper will be published on its regular schedule.
