Two of the three
Greeneville teens charged in the May killings of two cows and a calf have been arrested on charges
of shoplifting.
A report filed by Greeneville Police Lt. Alan Dotson states that 18-year-olds Matthew Fugate, of 6170 Kingsport Highway, and Blake Hebert, of 78 Oliphant Drive, of were arrested at around 2:16 p.m. Monday at Walmart Supercenter.
Fugate and Hebert were caught by Walmart security removing
merchandise from a package and concealing it on their person, according to the
report.
An arrest warrant for Hebert states that he attempted to take a
pack of pens. The total value of the merchandise was less than $8, according to the
warrants.
Both teens are scheduled to appear on Wednesday in Greene
County General Sessions Court.
In May, Greene County Sheriff Steve Burns
said an investigation had shown that the three farm animals were killed between May 8 and May 15 as
part of a failed graduation prank.
Burns said the three teens planned to
kill a calf and place it in an area of Greeneville High School where it would be visible from
below.
