The Greene County Partnership's Trails Committee is holding a contest to design a logo for use with its "Northeast Tennessee (NET) Outdoors" Web site and promotional materials.

"NET OUTDOORS needs a logo -- something edgy, progressive and fresh -- just like our great outdoors!" a Greene County Partnership press release said.

The design contest is to begin June 29 and continue through Sept. 15.

The new logo, according to the release, must:

* be designed for an outdoor recreation theme;

* be suitable for public use and viewing;

* be rendered and clear in both full color, four color and black and white designs;

* be accompanied by a short written description of design concept;

* not have been used previously in public;

* not use, or resemble, any portion of any recognizable known logo; and

* be drawn opaque, and must be able to have its size manipulated.

The organizers gave these directions:

"Produce the design within the space of a 8.5 x 11 size sheet of paper. Do not fold your design - please make notations on outside of envelope, 'do not fold.'

"Formats accepted: EPS, JPG, TIF, PSD, PDF. Compressed files should be submitted by ZIP Design image and should fit within the space of a 8.5 by 11 page. Resolution of at least 600 dpi is required.

"Designs must be accompanied by the artist's full name, mailing address, e-mail address and phone number .... There are no age restrictions.
