A Greeneville man was charged Tuesday with evading arrest and reckless endangerment after a brief pursuit and traffic accident.
Arrest warrants filed by Deputy Sheriff Mark Crum said he charged Jonathan A. Naples, 20, of A.W. Johnson Park, after seeing a vehicle being driven erratically on East Andrew Johnson Highway.
When Deputy Crum activated the blue lights and siren of his patrol car and attempted to stop the vehicle, its driver refused to stop, according to arrest warrants.
The fleeing car's driver, later identified as Naples, lost control of the car after attempting to turn from the East Andrew Johnson Highway onto the Erwin Highway, an arrest warrant said.
Naples, who had a female passenger in the vehicle, allegedly passed several vehicles before crashing into the parking lot of the Wash Depot car wash on Erwin Highway, according to arrest warrants.
Bond for Naples was set at $2,000. He was scheduled to appear today in General Sessions Court.
