Two people were injured about 6:50 p.m. Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of the East Andrew Johnson Highway and the Erwin Highway.
A report filed by GPD Officer Shane Matthews said the collision took place when a 1996 Nissan Frontier pickup driven by Jimmy J. Jones, of Old Stage Road, Chuckey, attempted to turn left from the Erwin Highway onto the East Andrew Johnson Highway and pulled into the path of a westbound 2002 Volkswagen Beetle driven by Amber N. Shell, of the Blue Springs Parkway, Greeneville.
The report said both drivers were injured and that Shell was taken by a Greene County-Greeneville Emergency Medical Services ambulance to Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
Jones was taken by private vehicle to the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Johnson City.
