An Afton woman was injured about 7:30 p.m. Monday
in a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Snapps Ferry Road about 500 feet north of Tusculum
Boulevard.
A report filed by GPD Officer Cameron Spradlin said Corina
Shanholtz, 28, of Snapps Ferry Road, was driving a 1995 Subaru sedan that attempted to pass a 2000
Ford F-150 pickup truck as it made a right turn into a parking lot.
The
police report said the pickup truck, which was driven by Lyle Casteel, 60, of Ottway Road, struck
the left rear of Shanholtz's Subaru as she attempted to pass his
truck.
Shanholtz was injured and taken by a Greene County-Greeneville
Emergency Medical Services ambulance to Takoma Regional Hospital. Casteel was not injured, the
report said.
