Greeneville police on Tuesday night investigated two snow-related traffic accidents.
The first was reported at 7:44 p.m. on Old Stage Road near North Rufe Taylor Road, according to a report filed by GPD Officer Billy Christy.
The report said Russell Mayes, 24, of Blue Springs Parkway, was driving a 2006 Nissan Altima on Old Stage Road when he lost control of the vehicle on the snow-covered road.
The car left the road, struck a ditch and overturned onto its side, according to the report, which noted that Mayes escaped injury.
A second weather-related accident occurred at 8:22 p.m. Tuesday on East Church Street near Barton Ridge Road, according to a report filed by GPD Officer Gina Holt.
The accident occurred when a 1990 Chevrolet pickup driven by Jake Waddell, 20, of Happy Valley Road, Limestone, began sliding on the snow and ice-covered road and struck the rear of a 1997 Acura sedan driven by Ryan R. Crawford, 28, of Martingale Drive, the police report said.
Both drivers escaped injury, according to the report.
Other snow-related accidents without injuries took place on Baileyton Road and Snapps Ferry Road, but police had not filed reports.
