Several holiday-related activities - including the Greeneville Christmas parade - are scheduled for this weekend.

• The Doak House Museum at Tusculum College will be open Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with storytelling and entertaining. Children will be able to make ornaments to take home. Tours are from noon and 2 p.m.

• On Saturday and Sunday, Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park will be hosting its Annual "Crockett Christmas" event. A candlelit pathway will lead past a campfire to the birthplace replica cabin, which will be decorated for Christmas. Hammer dulcimer music, a "traditional wassail" bowl and pioneer food samples will be available. This event will begin at 4:30 p.m. and go through 8:30 p.m. both days. Call 423-257-2167.

• On Saturday, the Kingsport Ballet will present "The Nutcracker" at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center. The cast includes several Russian dancers in principal roles and a host of children. Tickets are $20 and are still available for the 7 p.m. performance. Call 638-1328.

• On Sunday, the annual Greeneville Christmas parade will begin at 2 p.m. For the first time, the parade will feature all five high school bands plus the Greeneville Middle School band, for a total of about 500 student musicians. The parade will begin on Bohannon Avenue, turn onto North Main and proceed through downtown. It will turn left on McKee Street, turn left a block later on College Street and proceed to Greeneville High School, where it will disperse. Santa Claus will ride a fire truck at the end of the parade.

• The Bulls Gap Christmas Parade also starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday. It will begin and end at Bulls Gap Elementary School. Gary Williams, general manager of the town's largest employer, U.S. Fence, is the grand marshal. It will feature the Cherokee High School marching band.

• On Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m., the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will sponsor a "county-wide community rally" at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center featuring former National Football League star John "Bull" Bramlett as guest speaker.

• An FCA news release states that "Bull" Bramlett made All-Pro teams, went to two Pro Bowls, was named the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the 1970 New England Patriots, and was called the "Meanest Man In Football" until he found peace through a life-changing experience with Jesus Christ.

A spokesman said that the rally is free to the public and everyone interested is invited to attend.
