Angel Food Ministries this month is again offering low-cost food boxes at Lighthouse Assembly of God to persons interested in saving money on grocery bills.

There are five food boxes available in July.

The prices listed below include sales tax. Being offered are:

* The regular food box, called "menu," which costs $30 and includes the following: Marie Callender's family crock-pot meat dinner, boneless pork filet, chicken chunks, beef ribs, meatloaf and gravy; beef fajitas, meatballs, hot dogs, one dozen eggs, broccoli, peas and carrots, pasta, pasta sauce, shelf-stable milk, Hawaiian Punch, corn tortillas, a blueberry muffin mix and a dessert.

* A 7-pound meat grill box (Special 1) with New York Strip steaks, boneless netted Boston rump roast, beef ribs and mild Italian sausage for $20.

* A 4.5-pound steak and chicken combo box (Special 2) with Kansas City Strip steaks, bone-in ribeyes and bacon-wrapped chicken filets for $20.

* A 10-pound breaded chicken strip box (Special 3) with breaded chicken breast tenders for $18.

* A fresh fruit and veggie box (Special 4) with six ears of corn, carrots, yellow onions, lettuce, pineapple, California oranges, seedless watermelon and Russet potatoes for $16.

Orders may be placed at the Lighthouse Assembly of God on Mondays from noon to 3 p.m.; on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 9 to 2 p.m.; or on Saturday, July 12, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Food stamp cards, or EBTs, are accepted, as are checks and cash. Payment must be received at the church by no later than Saturday, July 12.

July's food boxes will be distributed on Saturday, July 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Buyers are asked to bring their own large boxes to carry out their food.

Unclaimed food will be donated to others if not picked up July 26 at the designated time.
