A Sevierville man was charged with multiple offenses by a state trooper on Wednesday after an incident near the 29-mile marker of Interstate 81 in northern Greene County in which his vehicle almost struck two patrol cars.
Arrest warrants filed against Michael Lynn Jones, 42, of Sevierville, by Trooper Dana Antonino-Slater on July 2 indicated that she charged Jones with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, criminal impersonation and simple possession of a controlled substance.
The reckless endangerment warrant alleged that a car driven by Jones nearly collided with two THP patrol cars when they attempted to stop the vehicle after receiving reports of it being driven in a reckless manner on I-81.
Jones was ordered held without bond pending a July 7 initial appearance in General Sessions Court on the charges.
