Greeneville police are investigating an attempted burglary of a storage building at the YMCA of Greene County on Y Street.

A report filed by GPD Officer Louis Calobrisi about 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, stated that a YMCA employee told him that someone had attempted to break into a storage building that houses lawn-care equipment.

The police report stated that someone had damaged a lock on the building with a metal fence post in an unsuccessful effort to break into the building.

Damage to the building was estimated at about $100.
