An American Red Cross blood drive will be held in honor of Doak Elementary School staff member, Karen Waddell, on Thursday, May 22, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the school.
Waddell was seriously injured in an automobile accident last November. She has since recovered and has returned to work at the school.
During her recovery, Waddell received numerous units of blood at the Johnson City Medical Center, which is served by the American Red Cross blood services.
A previous blood drive was held April 2 in her honor.
"There were 47 units collected at the first drive, which helped to save at least 141 lives," Waddell said.
