Residents and business owners living on or close to a section of Blue Springs Parkway in Mosheim were without water for about five hours Monday when a section of a main water line on the parkway broke Monday afternoon.
The break caused water service in the area to be turned off by the Town of Mosheim until the breach in the section could be replaced.
Those living in a one-mile to 1.5-mile radius of the broken line on Blue Springs Parkway just west of Emerald Road were affected, according to Jessie Lowery, a town employee. Lowery is also fire chief for the Town of Mosheim.
Lowery and four other men finished repairing the line around 7:30 p.m., he said. Water service through the line was restored shortly after that, he added.
Lowery said the break occurred around 3 p.m. on Monday because of excessive water pressure that had built up as he and other employees tried to place a new tap on the line.
