Now that spring is here and daylight savings time has returned, many residents are able to enjoy walks in local neighborhoods, the recently completed Phase I of the Downtown Historic Walkway or at local schools.
Recently, Greeneville officials have received several calls stating that pet owners who walk their dogs should be responsible and carry some type of scoop and bag to retrieve any waste their dog may deposit on someone else's property, private or public, according to a city press release.
A neighbor, downtown business owner or others should not have to remove the waste from their property or the sidewalk in front of their property, the press release stated.
"We ask that all our citizens who walk their dogs be responsible and carry a scoop and bag with them to properly pick up and dispose of the dog's waste," the press release said.
