An Asheville Highway convenience store was robbed shortly just before 11 p.m. on Sunday.

A clerk on duty at the Quick Stop No. 10 told police that she had been robbed at knifepoint by a tall, thin man who was missing some upper front teeth.

A report filed by GPD Officer Jackie Tweed said the robber, who was described as being between 6-foot-2 inches tall and 6-foot-5 inches tall, entered the store and said "give me that money" before taking a small amount of cash from the store's cash drawer.

The suspect, who was said to be missing at least two upper front teeth and who was estimated to weigh about 160 pounds, was armed with a knife that had a silver blade and "holes that his fingers went through," according to the Police Department report.

After taking what was thought to be less than $100 from the cash register, the suspect, who was wearing a blue jacket with black trim, fled in a white, older-model car that may have been a Chevrolet Cavalier, the police report said.
