A woman truck driver from Minnesota was charged by a sheriff's deputy with felony reckless endangerment and vandalism over $500 after a Wednesday afternoon incident in which she allegedly drove her truck head-on into another truck on the parking lot of an eastern Greene County business.
A report and arrest warrants filed by Deputy Sheriff Randy Christy said Debra Faye Jones, 55, of Pengilly, Minn., was charged after she allegedly drove a 2007 Freightliner tractor into the front of a 1993 Kenworth tractor occupied and driven by Jesus Salvador, 39, of Compton, Calif.
The 4 p.m. Wednesday incident occurred behind the Profile Industries Plant on Davy Crockett Park Road.
An accident report filed by Deputy Sheriff Christy said neither Jones, nor Salvador, was injured when Jones drove her truck into the front of Salvador's truck and pushed it backward about 25 feet.
In driving her truck into the truck occupied by Salvador, according to an arrest warrant, Jones placed Salvador in "imminent danger of death of serious injury."
The police report said the incident took place after the two trucks met while traveling in opposite directions behind the Profile Industries plant and a dispute developed between the two drivers.
Both trucks sustained damage, leading to the vandalism over $500 charge against Jones.
Bond for Jones was set at $11,000. She was scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on May 9.
