Distribution of free food commodities will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the East View Parks & Recreation Center 456 E. Bernard Avenue in Greeneville.
Eligibility is based upon household income, the Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency said in its announcement.
Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to income eligible households until all commodities are gone.
All recipients must be residents of Tennessee.
Anyone wishing to authorize another person to pick up their commodities must obtain a permission slip from the Neighborhood Service Center prior to the day of the distribution.
The distribution will begin on May 21 at 9 a.m. and will end at 3 p.m. or earlier, if foodstuffs are no longer available. Numbers will be distributed as to who will be served first approximately one hour prior to the doors' opening.
Misrepresentation of need, or sale or exchange of USDA commodities is prohibited and could result in a fine, imprisonment, or both.
USDA's Emergency Food Assistance Program is available to all eligible recipients regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex, or handicap.
