ELIZABETHTON -- With two out in the top of the seventh, Anna Malone hit a solo home run that lifted South Greene to a 5-4 victory over Chuckey-Doak on Tuesday in the District 1-AA Softball Tournament.

Malone also plated the Lady Rebels' first run, scoring on an RBI single from Brook Ricker in the first.

The Lady Knights leveled the score in the bottom of the third when Jordan Bowers led off with a base hit and was driven in by Kala Kyker.

South Greene came right back with a run in the fourth. With two away, Brandi Crum reached on a base hit and scored on an RBI single to left by Courtney Laney.

Chuckey-Doak moved back out front 3-2 with two runs in the fourth thanks to back-to-back hits from Amber Stills and Bowers.

South Greene went back out front with two in the fifth, and Chuckey-Doak tied it with a run in the sixth to set the stage for Malone's game-winning home run in the seventh.

Ricker and Brittany Kinser had two hits each for the Lady Rebels.

Chuckey-Doak was led by Kelley Weems, who went two-for-four with a double and two runs scored.

South Greene plays Elizabethton today at 5 p.m. in an elimination game with a guaranteed berth in the region tournament on the line.
