Results from Greene County middle school and elementary school baseball and softball games:
DeBusk, Panthers Split
West Pines traveled to DeBusk Tuesday and the two schools divided a doubleheader.
DeBusk won the softball game 14-0. Logan Dunn was winning pitcher and had two hits, including a grand slam homer. Sarah Luttrell and Brooke Robertson also had two hits each.
Dunn and Jessica Gallihar combined to pitch a no-hitter for the Braves.
In baseball, West Pines went eight innings before pulling out an 11-7 verdict. Dalton Wright was winning pitcher and had a double and two singles. Brett Bolton added a double and single and J. Anderson a triple and double.
For DeBusk, Marshall Brown had a double and single, Daniel Lowery two singles and Jonathan Zavaleta and Cameron Cannon a double apiece.
GMS Downs Camp Creek
Greeneville Middle School beat visiting Camp Creek in a doubleheader on Friday.
In the opener, GMS won 7-2. Matt Smith was winning pitcher. Brennan Hollowell had two hits and Ben Ogle and Eric Rhymer one hit each. Cole Baxley had two doubles for Camp Creek.
GMS took the second game by an 11-1 score. Brennan Hollowell was winning pitcher and had two hits, including a double. John Michael Hardin cracked two homers and a single and Tanner Stewart had one hit.
