Greeneville police on Saturday arrested a Greene County man on warrants charging him with two counts of forgery.
The warrants, which had been filed April 11 by GPD Det. Lt. Stewart Kilgore, charged Wayne M. Goode, 38, of 40 Haney Park, with passing two counterfeit $464 checks on March 28.
The warrants alleged that Goode, and others, stole mail from mailboxes and used information taken from personal checks found in that mail to produce counterfeit, computer-generated checks that were subsequently cashed.
Bond for Goode was set at $5,000. He was scheduled to make an initial appearance in General Sessions Court on April 28.
