A young woman pizza-delivery driver was assaulted and robbed here on Saturday night.
A report filed by Greene County Deputy Sheriff Adam Arrington said the 19-year-old victim told officers shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday that she had delivered a pizza to a Shady Rest Circle residence off of Kingsport Highway and was returning to her vehicle when she was grabbed from behind by a man.
The report said the young woman told officers that her attacker had placed a knife to her face and threatened to cut her with it if she screamed.
During an ensuing struggle, according to the report, the assailant took $250 in cash from the victim by force and ripped her shirt.
The report said the suspect fled when the victim managed to struggle free of his grasp.
The victim suffered cuts and bruises to her face during the struggle with the suspect, according to the report.
The Sheriff's Department report gave no description of the robbery suspect.
The report also did not indicate if the victim required medical attention for her injuries.
