Alan Sanner, a supervisor at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Midway, recently received the Patriot Award, a certification of appreciation and lapel pin from the Pentagon office of Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).

Spec. Brian Morrow of Company F, 1st Squadron, 230th Armored Calvary Regiment, a unit of the Tennessee Army National Guard in Jackson, Tenn., had nominated Sanner for the award.

Sanner was recognized for his unwavering support of Spec. Morrow during his tour of duty with the National Guard.

Local representatives of ESGR commended the Wal-Mart Distribution Center for its outstanding support as an employer of Guard and Army Reserve members.
