The Baileyton Planning Commission on Thursday unanimously approved the subdivision of 45 acres off Baileyton's Main Street owned by Aldon Jones.
Mayor Tommy Casteel said about four acres of the Jones property, located near North Greene High School, are within Baileyton town limits, and the rest of the tract is outside the town.
Bill Onkst, an engineer with Azimuth Engineering, presented a plat of the proposed subdivision to the planners, which they signed.
Before the planners' vote, state planner Charles Anderson said he saw no reason to turn down the subdivision request.
In other action, the commission discussed, but did not vote on, a plan of services for a proposed annexation of the Jason R. and Richard Brandon property.
The 4.8-acre property is located near the intersection of I-81 and the Baileyton Road, across from the Pilot gas station.
A public hearing must be held before the annexation can take place. No date for that hearing was set, pending confirmation of the date that a public notice on the annexation is published in The Greeneville Sun.
