A Tennessee Highway Patrol dispatcher, this morning, identified the man who died as Curtis L. Williams, 69, of Frank Stanton Road, Limestone. Williams, according to the THP dispatcher, was driving a 1993 Nissan pickup truck east on Highway 107 (the Erwin Highway) when a westbound 2001 Ford Explorer driven by Walter E. Dial, Jr., 59, of Elizabethton, crossed the center line of the road and struck the pickup head-on. Williams was killed and both Dial and his passenger, Nita Dial, 59, were injured in the collision, according to the THP. However, the dispatcher had not information about the extent of the injuries suffered by the Dials. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Suzanne Masoner.
