The Greene County Sheriff's Department is investigating the theft of a motorcycle and two burglaries.

In one incident, a report filed by Deputy Sheriff Robbie Morgan about 8:25 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, said a Granite Lane man told Morgan that his 1996 Kawasaki KLR 250 street/dirt motorcycle had been taken from his property sometime Tuesday night or early Wednesday.

Tracks at the scene indicated that the missing motorcycle, which was valued at $1,600, had been pushed a distance of about 100 yards down Granite Lane before being loaded onto a vehicle or trailer, according to the report.

In a second incident report to the Sheriff's Department on Wednesday morning, a Lauderdale Road man told Deputy Sheriff Robert Livingston about 8:30 a.m. that someone had stolen tools from his storage building on Timber Ridge Road.

Missing, according to Livingston's report, were a box of socket wrenches, an air wrench, two drills and the lock from the storage building. The missing items had an estimated value of $700.

On Wednesday afternoon, a Swanay Road resident told Deputy Livingston that he had returned home to find that someone had forced open the rear door of his residence and had stolen a 42-inch flat-screen TV set and an X-Box 360 video game system.

The missing items had an estimated value of $2,400, according to the report.
