JOHNSON CITY -- Cody Jones pitched a complete game and led North Greene at the plate to pace the Huskies to a 12-3 win over Hampton on Tuesday in the district baseball tournament.

Jones struck out nine and limited the Bulldogs to six hits.

At the plate, Jones went four-for-five with the game's only double.

North Greene plays again today, taking on Unaka in an elimination game at 4 p.m. at Indian Trail Middle School.

Devils Lose To Hurricanes

NEWPORT -- Morristown East ended Greeneville's baseball season Tuesday in the District 2-AAA Tournament with a 5-2 victory.

Each team plated a run in the first, but the Hurricanes took the lead for keeps with two runs in the third and added two more in the fifth.

Ryan Fillers pitched six strong innings, striking out seven. Offensively, the Devils were led at the plate by Ryan Duncan, Josh Hall and Trey Jaynes with a single each.

Coach Greg Dykes recognized the seven seniors that played in their final game for the Devils: Ryan Duncan, Cody Duncan, Josh Hall, Eric Idell, Trey Jaynes, Ben Jennings and Thomas Tilson.
