(Last modified: 2008-05-01 13:04:55) Source: The Greeneville Sun A Greeneville woman told GPD Officer Clifford Lawing about 3 p.m. April 29 that several times since April 15 a man had telephoned her and had asked for her Social Security number. The woman told police that the caller, who last telephoned on April 19, had said he needed her Social Security number in order to "get her Social Security medical card to her. The woman said she refused to divulge her Social Security number and told the caller she was going to report him to police. When officers attempted to call the telephone numbers from which the calls had been placed to the local resident, both were found to be out of service, according to the police report.
