Christopher A. Smith, 39, of 100A Blazer Lane, was charged April 25 by Deputy Sheriff Ricky Graham with being a fugitive from South Carolina.

An arrest warrant filed by Deputy Graham said Smith was a passenger in a car that had been stopped for a traffic violation.

An identification check revealed that Smith was wanted by authorities in Hampton County, S.C., according to the arrest warrant.

Smith was ordered held without bond pending an April 28 hearing in General Sessions Court.
